About Angie

I am a Usui Reiki Master and 250 Hr certified Yoga instructor. I studied Iyengar yoga which is alignment based with props.
I am also a lifetime a cappella barbershop singer. Barbershop singing has been a part of my life as long as I can remember, you could say it's a family thing.
During a coaching session it hit me that I could combine my yoga training with my love of barbershop singing. The alignment aspect of Iyengar yoga is great to help with singers alignment and the more spiritual parts of yoga, meditation and chanting are all great for nerves and stage freight which I have personally experienced.
And so began my journey to incorporate the two passions of my life.
I am also a certified Administrative Judge in Harmony, Inc. who I also work for as their Administrative Coordinator. You could say that barbershop is a big part of my life.
My favourite place to be in sitting on my back deck or in my hammock at Harmony Ranch, which just so happens to be a campground (more like cottages) for barbershop singers.
About Sing Pretty
Why Sing Pretty? Well, it goes back to my Dad who passed away in 2019. Instead of saying "break a lip" or "best of luck" going onto stage he would say "sing pretty". It always made me feel more calm and relaxed to go onto stage. And also to remember to not over do it, just sing as you had been practicing all along. I figured that since this phrase always helped me feel more confident walking on stage it was a great name for all the information I want to pass along about performance anxiety and stage fright. And it's a little reminder of my Dad! (pictured to the right on stage with one of his quartets, Potluck)
